Hugh // guitar, banjo, mandolin
Hugh’s love for the 5-string banjo began at the age of 15, growing up playing country, Irish and jazz music. Ten years later he graduated from the University of Tasmania’s Conservatorium of Music with a Bachelor of Music with first class honours in jazz banjo. Hugh is a multi-instrumentalist that not only excels in banjo but guitar, mandolin, and 4-string banjo. Hugh has been teaching since his early days at university teaching students of all ages. Hugh holds a current Working with Children Registration as required by the Tasmanian Department of Justice as he devotes part of his time to teacher’s aid work at Hobart Primary schools.
Declan // guitar, electric guitar
Declan completed his Bachelor of Music in 2017 specialising in guitar. His years at the Conservatorium of Music have given him the expertise and sharpest methods of teaching his students guitar. One of the hardest working guitarists in the industry, Declan has been performing for over 17 years in numerous Hobart bands giving him the experience to show his students the world of music.
Hannah // violin
Hannah began playing Irish music on the violin at the age of 7. She became the key in igniting our family passion for Irish music. Twenty years on, not only is Hannah one of the fiercest fiddle players around but she is an accomplished songwriter. She teaches her students how to read and play music and with her years of experience in performing with other Hobart musicians she also has the best knowledge of how to perform to an audience.
