Hayley + Ben
We loved performing as a duo at Hayley + Ben’s wedding amongst the trees at Fern Tree. It looked like it was going to rain, but instead the sun came out and shined so warmly during their whole day. Their wedding reflected them, relaxed and fun.
Their wedding required we perform in 3 locations: outside on the grass for the ceremony, outside on the patio adjacent to the cider bar, and inside the hall for DJ. As usual, we arrived at least two hours before the guests arrived to ensure all the equipment and sound levels were set correctly and ready to go. We brought enough gear to transition from all the locations seamlessly so that there was always music playing.
We were nailing it, so we even had time for a few minutes rest in the sun before doing a warm up and dress rehearsal of the three ceremony songs Hayley + Ben had requested we learn for them.
As the celebrant used our wireless microphone, we recorded the vows, the laughter and the celebration – now a keepsake that Hayley + Ben can enjoy.
Drinks & canapés
This is where our upbeat set began. Declan left Hugh to play solo as he set up the at the canapés location for guests that would start moving over. Hugh continued to perform as the last of the guests mingled out of the ceremony location.
We then transitioned to the second location and resumed our acoustic duo set while the guests mingled and enjoyed canapés and drinks in the sunshine. Over the next couple of hours we performed a mixture of our own renditions of classic, jazz, 80’s pop and contemporary songs.
There was even a wardrobe change as Declan spilt some delicious food on his white shirt – lucky we keep spares in the car!
The speeches
We love this part. The speeches are always moving, funny, insightful, emotional and beautiful. Those that gave them for Hayley + Ben were no exception, and we were happy to be able to have captured them in a recording for them as a keepsake.
The recordings
Hayley + Ben received the recordings of their ceremony, including their vows and their three special songs, and all the speeches on a USB packaged together in this special box.
